The Delhi Jesuit Province of the Society of Jesus wishes to draw up guidelines to deal with the issues of sexual abuse of minors and vulnerable adults in our schools. The guidelines are the experience of the church and country’s teaching on justice and compassion and the society’s own conviction on social justice.
The broad objective of the policy is to set minimum standards of behaviour and procedures for creating a safe environment for the protection of children and vulnerable adults against abuse and maltreatment.
We have an “Internal Grievance Cell” constituted by the disciplinary authority to prevent and redress allegation/ incidence of abuse and maltreatment. Internal Grievance Cell consists of a minimum of 5 persons and a maximum of 7 persons including a lawyer, psychologist, a social worker. The Internal Grievance Cell examines cases of abuse and maltreatment referred to them.
