Tournaments

The Association of the Schools for the Indian School Certificate (ASISC) organizes events every year for students in athletics and games like Football, Cricket, Basketball, Badminton, Volleyball and at Zonal, Regional, and National levels. St. Xavier’s hosts some of these events on behalf of ASISC from time to time. The students who excel in these games participate in the events organised by the School Games Federation of India and Khelo India.

Bokaro Vicariate Football Tournament for junior and senior boys is a popular sporting event for middle school boys of the Catholic schools of Bokaro district hosted by St. Xavier’s in August every year. The school welcomes 12-15 participating institutions in the tournament creating a festive atmosphere in the campus for two days.

Fr. Kevin Grogan Memorial Football Tournament is held every year. St. Xavier’s, Hazaribag and Bokaro takes turns to host this. This is in memory of Fr. Grogan who contributed to the growth of games and sports in both the schools. In the beginning years the tournament was exclusively for Jesuit schools of Bihar. Now high schools located in Hazaribag and Daltonganj Catholic dioceses are the participants in the tournament.

Intramural, Inter-house and Inter-class games are held every year for Football, Volleyball, Badminton, Table Tennis and all the other games played in the school.
